Tough Enough: The Journey Begins

We landed a book deal! Here's what’s next for our leadership playbook.

🎉 Big news!

My mentor John Baird and I are thrilled to announce that we’ve officially signed a book deal with Hachette Book Group to publish our upcoming book, Tough Enough (working title). Partnering with Emily Taber at Basic Books, we’re targeting a Fall 2026 release.

Last week, we spent a couple of productive days in the Bay Area mapping out the structure and vision for the book. I couldn’t be more energized about what’s ahead. This is a multi-generational collaboration: John is 80, and I’m 37. I’m deeply grateful to be on this journey with someone who has had a front-row seat to the development of some of the most successful companies ever created.

A bit about the book: our thesis is simple—great companies are built by tough leaders. But this isn’t about just any toughness; it’s a specific kind of toughness that balances power with purpose. In Tough Enough, we’ll explore what it truly means to be a tough leader, how to cultivate and increase your toughness, and we’ll share a leadership playbook for dominating your category or driving game-changing innovation.
